Matt Manning has been involved in theatre as an Artist, Technician, and Creative since 2010. In 2013, he made his professional debut at Crown Theatre, Perth, in the Australian tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (TML Enterprises) in the role of Toby and Understudy Jeremy.
Matt began his dance training at the age of 11 at the All About Dance Company. Later he trained at JLC Dance Company where he now works as a Dance, Musical Theatre and Vocal teacher. He has also participated in the Australian Tap Dance Festival in Melbourne where he was able to learn from some of the tapping greats including; Ted Louis Levy and Darren Disney.
In 2015, Manning joined the West Australian Ballet Company as a youth artist for their production of Coppélia, where he played Young Henry.
As a performer, Manning has had the opportunity of originating many roles including the role of Pilot Tibbets in the Western Australian Premiere of 'Atomic' the new rock musical (Grey Lanterns Productions) in 2019.
In 2015, Matt was introduced to the technical side of theatre, completing work experience in theatrical lighting at His Majesty’s Theatre, before moving on to work at the Koorliny Arts Centre, Kwinana as a lighting technician where he continues to serve in this role today.
In 2020, Matt completed his Diploma of Musical Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and is currently completing a Bachelor of Musical Theatre (Class of 2023).
In 2021, Manning began his own Vocal Training company and now strives towards passing on his knowledge and training at a professional standard.
In 2022, Matt joined the Bel Canto team as a Dance Teacher as well as Production Choreographer for their Mid-Year Production of Singin' in the Rain Jr.
